FINDING US
Portland Street is one of the major city centre road routes in Manchester. It is very easy to find, and always busy with traffic. If you are coming into the city from the M62, follow the M602 onto the Mancunian Way, then take the exit for ‘Sackville Street' and follow the road to the left. This will bring you onto Sackville Street which leads right up to Portland Street and virtually opposite our building.
From Great Ancoats Street, follow signs for Piccadilly Gardens, which will bring you down Newton Street and then onto Portland Street. We are half way down Portland Street on the right, opposite the Portland Tower. You will pass Dawson's Music Store, The Brittania Hotel and Yates and the entrance to our building is next to a small paper kiosk bannered (independent).
By Train, the best station to come into is Piccadilly, and if you are travelling before 7pm you can catch a free bus which will drop you very near to us on Portland Street, or it is a 5 minute walk down Station Approach towards Piccadilly Gardens, then turn left after the Tesco Metro, and walk down past the Brittania Hotel and Yates. Our building is directly opposite the Bus Stop just after Yates, alongside the Portland Tower.
We are also very near the Tram and Bus network, so access by public transport is easy.
PARKING
Our building has no parking facilities, so on street parking in the area after 6pm is the cheapest option.
All parking bays with pay and display meters are free after 6pm until 8am the following day, and free all day Sunday. These bays can be found on Sackville Street, Charlotte Street, Chorlton Street and around the China Town area behind our building. Single yellow lines are also free to park on after 6pm, however, this only applies to single yellow lines, not doubles. There are also a number of ‘Loading Bays', but you can only park in them after 6pm, if the sign identifies that the bay is time limited. If no time is displayed, then do not park in the bay as you will be liable to receive a fixed penalty ticket.
If you are attending the building before 6pm on a weekday, then there are a number of car-parks in the area. Chorlton Street (near the coach station), Bloom Street, and behind us in China Town have an array of car parks at ground level or multi-storey. On street ‘pay and display' parking is available for up to 2 hours at 55p per 15 minutes.
